The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a heavy blow to armed bandits in Zamfara State, killing scores of terrorists, including several notorious kingpins, during a coordinated air and ground assault on Makakkari Forest.

The operation, conducted on 10 August 2025 under Operation FASAN YAMMA, followed Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports confirming that over 400 bandits were mobilising to attack a farming community.

According to NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, precision airstrikes, supported by ground troops, successfully neutralised the threats, preventing what could have been a major assault on civilians.

“The synergy between our air and land components was exceptional,” Ejodame said, noting that the strikes eliminated both senior leaders and numerous foot soldiers.

The latest operation marks another significant success in the ongoing campaign to restore peace and security in the North-West.
