The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commissioned a set of community development projects in Anipupo, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, delivering 30 solar-powered streetlights, an industrial borehole, and a 35,000-litre water storage system to the community.
The initiative, inaugurated on August 26, 2025, is part of NAF’s Special Intervention/Quick Impact Projects designed to improve the welfare of rural communities while strengthening Civil-Military Relations (CMR).
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, by the NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the project was executed in honour of Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Timothy Marquis, an indigene of Anipupo Community.
Representing the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, noted that the intervention reflects NAF’s resolve to positively impact civilian lives in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“By providing clean water and lighting up the community, we are not only improving livelihoods but also reinforcing the bond of trust between the Nigerian Air Force and the people we serve,” Air Marshal Abubakar said.
In his remarks, AVM Abidemi Timothy Marquis expressed gratitude to NAF leadership for the gesture, describing it as a reminder that collective effort can drive lasting development.
He urged residents to safeguard the facilities and ensure sustainability.
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ola Oresanya, lauded the Air Force for what he called a “shining example of partnership that transforms lives.”
He stressed that the intervention aligns with his administration’s grassroots development agenda, pledging continued support for collaborative projects that improve the standard of living across the state.
The event attracted traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents, who commended the Nigerian Air Force for extending its role beyond security operations to tangible contributions in rural development.
