The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has joined the global community to commemorate the 2025 International Day of Peace, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding not only Nigeria’s skies but also contributing to global peace and security.
Speaking under this year’s theme: “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar declared that peace is more than just the absence of war, it is the promotion of harmony, cooperation, and compassion.
While its core mission remains the defence of Nigeria’s airspace, the Force highlighted its expanded role in deterring aggression, stabilising conflict zones, supporting humanitarian operations, and responding to natural disasters.
NAF also underscored its growing international collaborations, joint exercises, and partnerships as vital tools in building trust and strengthening global peace efforts.
Beyond military operations, the Air Force reaffirmed its dedication to civil-military relations, community empowerment, dialogue, and the protection of civilians.
“On this special day, we renew our commitment to unity, understanding, and a safer world,” the Force declared. “Lasting peace is possible when nations and communities act together.”
