NAF’s Civilian Protection Mandate: CAS’s Visit to Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sends Strong Message

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has affirmed its commitment to protecting civilians across all theatres of engagement.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar who made this known in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, reaffirmed this commitment by tasking the Chief of Civil-Military Relations (CCMR), Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, to engage with the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in the North West region.

During the engagement, AVM Daramola praised the troops for their tactical achievements and emphasized the importance of precision strikes, strategic empathy, and community cooperation.

He stressed that the trust of the people is the NAF’s most potent force multiplier and urged the troops to remain steadfast in their mission.

The CCMR’s visit aimed to reinforce the CAS’s directive that all air operations must align with international humanitarian law and best practices.

It also underscored the NAF’s commitment to professional excellence, precision targeting, and enhanced synergy with ground troops and the civil populace.
