As the 2023 general election holds on Saturday, 25th February, the All Progressive Congress (APC) governors are in a crucial meeting with the Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu to iron out issues of naira redesign crises among the governors, politicians and Nigerians.
The Governor who came for the meeting are governors of Kaduna state, Nasiru El-Rufai; Mohammed Bello of Niger, Abdulahi Sule of Nasarawa, Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara , Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa , Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, Simone Lalong of Plateau, the deputy governors of Imo state, Placid Njoku, and Mohammed Manir Yakubu of Katsina state.
Also present were the Deputy National Chairmen, North Zone, Senator Abubakar Kyari; Chief Emma Enekwu, National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore among others.
In his opening address, the APC Chairman assured that the meeting will proffer solution to the lingering issues surrounding the redesign of naira in Nigeria.
According to Senator Adamu, APC do not want to seat in judgement of anybody or bodies with regards to what is going on in the country as it affects the great party.
“Now it is my privilege to welcome you to this important and emergency meeting. It is that we found a situation where we have a pressing need to get together as our flag bearers of our states in Nigeria who were elected on our platforms of pur great party the APC.
“I am happy with the response so far. And it is my understanding that more of the Governors are on their way coming. You will recall the recent development that has necessitated the need for this invitation.
“We do not want to seat in judgement of anybody or bodies with regards to what is going on today in the country as it affects our great party. I thought the best to do is to get all those who are holding forth in the critical positions in the party to get together and have some interaction so that we can have a better interpretation and appreciation of the situation that we are in. That is the essence of this invitation” he informed.
