Nasarawa approves establishment of bureau for rural development

The Nasarawa State Executive Council has approved the establishment of the State’s Bureau for Rural Development, which will manage all rural infrastructure.

The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Dogo Shammah disclosed this while briefing newsmen, shortly after the monthly executive council meeting, on Friday.

According to him, the Bureau will regulate, construct, upgrade and maintain rural feeder roads as well as water installations across the state among others.

Highlighting the resolutions, Mr Shammah said henceforth, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), must key into the digitisation information management, geared towards tracking performances of MDAs’ projects, policies and programmes implementation to meet up with global digital direction in area of information dissemination.

This, the Commissioner said, is in line with the desire of the Governor Abdullahi Sule administration to make Nasarawa State one among top three states of the federation with the enabling environment for investors.
