National Youth Games: Team Kaduna optimistic the state will build upon success

The Kaduna Team comprising 150 strong contingent, alongside several others were among the early arrivals to the 3rd National Youth Games (NYG) which will be opens at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State on Saturday.

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria who are among the Contingents reports from Ilorin that other states spotted early Friday at the Unilorin Bus Stop, where their vehicles parked were Delta State, Kano State, Bayelsa State and Ondo State.

Others are Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

As the time of filing the report, Team Kaduna was off-loading its kits which comprises of track suits, canvass, T-shirt, blanket, bed sheets, towels and buckets for the athletes and officials that make up the contingent.

Speaking shortly after the off-loading, the Director Grassroots Sports Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Dr. Ademola Are assured that this year’s edition will be an improvement on last year’s.

He said all efforts in collaboration with the management of Unilorin have been put in place in ensuring a hitch-free NYC.

Also speaking, the Director of Sports Kaduna State, Mr. Yusuf Joshua Yamai was optimistic that the state will build upon the success recorded at the last edition, which was also hosted by Unilorin.
