Nigeria’s defence architecture took a decisive turn on Tuesday as the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, formally received the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Ship House, Abuja signalling the dawn of a renewed era of unity, discipline, and strategic purpose within the Armed Forces.
The visit, the first since their appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR marks a pivotal moment in the nation’s security leadership transition.

Welcoming the new defence chiefs, Minister Badaru emphasized that the meeting was more than a formality — it was a declaration of intent.
“This moment is about unity, trust, and shared purpose,” he said. “We are building a cohesive defence leadership that delivers, one that acts with clarity, discipline, and loyalty to the Nigerian people.”
He described the gathering as a reaffirmation of the administration’s commitment to strategic coherence across the Armed Forces, guided by the national security
