The Federal Republic of Nigeria has on Friday expressed its deep condolences to the Spanish government and its citizens over the devastating floods that swept through eastern Spain on October 29.
This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ambassador Eche Abu-Obe.
According to Amb. Abu-Obe, Nigeria is dismayed at the news of devastating flash floods that struck eastern Spain, claiming 158 lives and several others missing.
He affirmed that Nigeria stands with Spain at this tragic moment and therefore conveys its deepest condolences to the people of the Kingdom of Spain, while praying for the families of the victims.
Amb. Abu-Obe reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with Spain during the tragic time.
Recall the flooding was triggered by unprecedented rainfall and has caused widespread destruction across the eastern regions of Spain, particularly in Valencia and its surrounding provinces.
