President Bola Tinubu at the conclusion of the 11th session of South Africa-Nigeria Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Cape Town, South Africa signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and other several agreements aimed to strengthen strategic partnerships between the two nations.

President Tinubu commended the comprehensive, frank, and creative deliberations that took place during the session, emphasizing the importance of the BNC as an effective institutional mechanism for managing and nurturing bilateral relations.

He urged ministers and senior officials from both countries to ensure prompt and effective follow-up and implementation of the agreements reached.

Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to the partnership, expressing his desire to intensify cooperation between the two nations to drive development, peace, security, stability, democracy, and prosperity in Africa.

In another development, Nigeria has sought South Africa’s backing for membership in the G20 and BRICS, as well as support for assuming leadership roles in thematic discussions under South Africa’s G20 presidency.
