The 10th Round of the Nigeria-Switzerland Political Consultations took place on June 25, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA ) in Nigeria.
The meeting was co-led by Ambassador Janet Olisa, Director of Regions, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria, and Ambassador Philipp Stalder, Director for Africa, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Switzerland.
According to Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Spokesperson of MFA in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday informed that the consultations aimed to strengthen relations between the two countries, building on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2016.
The MoU established an annual platform for bilateral consultations, which has since become a vital medium for increased engagements and collaboration on issues of mutual interest.
The consultations covered a wide range of topics, including:
– Trade and investment
– Legal cooperation
– Peace, security, and humanitarian matters
The meeting demonstrated the commitment of both countries to enhance their bilateral relations and cooperate on issues of mutual interest.
The Nigeria-Switzerland partnership continues to grow, with both countries working together to address common challenges and opportunities.
