The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the successful upgrade of its diaspora enrolment platform, aimed at delivering faster, more secure, and more efficient National Identification Number (NIN) services to Nigerians living abroad.
According to Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the Head, Corporate Communications in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday, the upgrade will provide a seamless and robust enrolment process for the Nigerian diaspora, ensuring improved system security, efficiency, and overall service delivery.
As part of the rollout, all NIMC-accredited Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) have been integrated into the new system and trained on its application and management.
The Commission has given the partners 48 hours to obtain and activate their enrolment licenses on the upgraded platform, after which diaspora applicants will be able to access services from compliant centres.
NIMC also apologize for any inconvenience caused during the upgrade process and confirmed the establishment of a dedicated service team to resolve enrolment-related issues.
Diaspora applicants experiencing difficulties are advised to contact the Commission at nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng for prompt assistance.
Meanwhile, NIN enrolment in Nigeria remains ongoing at all accredited centres nationwide, with centre locations available on the NIMC website.
Nigerians at home and abroad can also modify their NIN records through the https://selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng portal.
In addition, NIN holders are encouraged to download the NIMC NINAuth App from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store to verify their NINs, control who can view their information, and enjoy seamless authentication services.
