The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched a nationwide initiative to enroll citizens in all wards across the country in the National Identification Number (NIN) program.
The NIMC DG/CEO, Engr (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote disclosed this in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday by Kayode Adegoke (PhD), the Head, Corporate Communications.
She informed that, partnering with the Ministry of Youth Development and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), NIMC aimed to reach previously unreachable areas through the Ward Enrolment initiative.
According to her, over 120 million Nigerians and legal residents have already been enrolled and issued NINs.
Dr. Abisoye confirmed that selected Youth Corps members are undergoing intensive training to drive NIN enrolment in all wards, saying the initiative targets children below 16 years old and aims to bring NIN enrolment closer to the people.
Engr (Dr) Abisoye praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support and appreciated the efforts of the Minister of Youth Development and NYSC DG.
She maintained that the initiative is part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to enroll and issue NINs to all Nigerians and legal residents within the shortest time possible.
