The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has dismissed reports of fraudulent activities by enrolment agents in Abuja, stressing that all National Identification Number (NIN) data modifications can only be carried out online through its official self-service portal.
In a statement signed by the Commission’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, NIMC reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on extortion, falsification, and misconduct by staff or licensed Front-End Partners.
“For the records, all NIN data modifications are done online via the self-service modification portal, selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng. No physical modification is allowed, and NIMC does not have agents authorized for data alterations,” the statement read.
The Commission urged Nigerians to follow approved statutory guidelines and to report any cases of misconduct through its official complaint channels:
📞 +234-9-134959433, 08155015388
📧 actu@nimc.gov.ng | ieu@nimc.gov.ng
Reassuring Nigerians of the integrity of the national identity database, NIMC pledged to maintain transparency, accountability, and trust in the country’s identity management system.
