Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Ebonyi State has assured that Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration is committed to constructing durable roads in the state to uplift the infrastructural standards.

Mbam, who gave the assurance during an interaction with journalists in Abakaliki, the state capital, said the newly constructed internal roads in the state capital would last the test of time, considering the robust concrete technology applied during the construction.

“We have been commissioning these projects in the past few weeks, and people can see that they have quality and are pleasing to the eye. So far, His Excellency has done wonderfully well through the ministry of works.” He said.

According to him, the new roads were started and completed within the one year of the administration, which include a 4.5km Mile 50 New Layout road, the 13.3km Udude Street internal roads, the Legacy FM road, the 20.5km Onueke-Ikwo section of the Abakaliki ring road, as well as the 17.2km Nwezenyi-Nwanwu-Mgbaji Nwagu section of the Abakaliki ring road.

He also pointed out some rehabilitated roads within the state capital, which include Udude, Emefor, Onamba, Police Junction, Goddy Ogbaga Avenue, Olisaemeka, Barr Igweama, Nnorom, Alo, Grace Ovu Nwagu, Mike Aduaka, and Igweanu Liga Street, as part of the government’s achievements within its first year.

He further assured the general public that the Governor Nwifuru-led administration would continue to focus on delivering quality leadership and urge them to support him in his bid to deliver his mandate, which was centred on the people’s charter of needs.
