… No vacancy – Gov Aiyedatiwa warn other aspirants
… I represent best material to take Ondo to incredible height – Eyinlanwo
As Ondo State Governorship primary election hold on the April 20th, the aspirants who instantly line-up on Friday for screening of their credentials, affirmed that they are going to emerge as the next Ondo Governorship APC flag bearer in the election.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after his screening, the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa warned other aspirants that the sit is no vacancy.
According to him, he has the structures, the people and the competence to emerge the flag bearer, saying his coming out to continue as Governor of Ondo State wasn’t borne out of his own ambition or desire but because of the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
“I should just advice them to repent and try to go to the field and work. If they are interested in the seat and the seat is not vacant that is why they’re trying to do all that they are doing.
“My coming out to continue as Governor of Ondo state wasn’t borne out of my own ambition or desire but because of the yearnings and aspirations of the people; the endorsement of the traditional rulers, the students, artisans, everybody; the community leaders, even the civil servants, everybody are happy with the current state (of affairs); peace and security for the day people and they are going about their businesses without fear.
“You see, we are all indigenes of Ondo state and we are all qualified to run to be the Governor of Ondo state but there is a sitting Governor. I have the structures; the people and the competence. Within the few months that I assumed office they have seen clearly that this is the best man of the job because of the peace in the state and some the programmes that have been rolled out to the people.
“The next line of action we are waiting for the primary election comes 20th of this month (April). Don’t forget that we have to pay for our party members because according to the rule there is only the financially up to date members that will be allowed to vote. So as a government we have to pay for our members. Other aspirants also have to pay some money but I paid the highest for our members to have the opportunity to vote.
“When the people are calling me that I should continue, these are people that are are going to vote, they are clamouring for me, they’re the ones that will vote; I can’t install myself, it is the people” said.
Also speaking to journalists, Chief Olusola Oke informed that he is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and have no certificates issue.

Answering questions on “no vacancy by Gov Lucky,” Chief Oke said It’s s an aphorism from all incumbent persons, I heard this one in Lagos when Ambode was there. Ambode said “no vacancy”, he had to leave when he needed to leave. It’s a statement of wish and desire by the governor and it’s a statement that is intended to undermine a democratic exercise.
Contributing, Olusoji Adewale Eyinlanwo confirmed that he represent the best material to take Ondo State to incredible height and the best material for APC if it is desirous of putting it’s best foot forward.
Eyinlanwo maintained that the best option for APC and people of Ondo is putting him forward as the candidate of the party.
“I said it yesterday as well that APC has done well so far but it’s important for the APC to put it’s best forward. It is important for our state but we have the best amongst a lot – somebody who has the pedigree, vision and the credibility to take our state to a very remarkable height. For me, I’m the best to unite the party, able to lead our party to victory and importantly for all people of Ondo state, make our state a reference point for good governance and that’s what I wanted to achieve.
“What I am saying is that very clearly, I represent the best material to take our State to incredible height..I represent the best material for our party if it is desirous of putting it’s best foot forward.
“I think the screening went quite well. Honestly I presented my credentials, my pedigree. Like I said yesterday at interview on TVC, I remain the tallest among all of the aspirants. I have got very big ideas. I am seen as the candidate of the masses, as aspirant of the youths.
“These are the very important segments within our state. I got enough quite well to offer. I think you can bring your party together, take it to victory and make a remarkable performance for our state. We need to take our state to very very remarkable light. To me the best option is putting me forward as the candidate of the party.

In his opinion, Jimoh Ibrahim in an interview with newsmen shortly after his screening of his credentials had described Governor Lucky Ayiedatiwa’s statement that there was no vacant in the Ondo governor sit as a huge joke.
“The governor is joking, a big joke, a huge joke he is cracking with you. He is out of that place by the time we finish primary next week, he is gone and there is nothing virtually he can do about it.
“I don’t normally go against people, to me, clear everybody, let them go for primary, let the electorate determine. I have won the election as Senator, I won in six of the six local governments, 65 of the 66 wards, with 111,677 votes against Agboola Ajayi’s 60,000 votes.
“What is the governor talking about? This governor has never won an election, he contested for the House of Representatives, he didn’t win one local government, just two local governments, he couldn’t even win one.
“He was a pair to Aketi, we didn’t vote for him, we voted for Aketi. But I can assure you, the governor is a huge joker” he lamented.
