The Ambassador of Palestine to Nigeria, Abdallah Abu Shawesh has affirmed that Palestine has been trying to convince the lnternational Community to support the Two-State Solution to end the war of Palestine-Israeli conflict.

Palestinian envoy also accused the current Israeli government of being ultra-conservative, messianic and bent in putting stumbling blocks to the resolution of the conflict.

Amb Shawesh who made the affirmation during one hour interactive Forum with Diplomat Press Corps at the Embassy of Palestine in Abuja on Wednesday bemaoned that Israeli have occupied seventy eight percent (78%) of Palestine country leaving them with only twenty two percent areas of West Bank and, Gaza.

He lamented that Palestine is now controlling less than twenty percent (20%) as Area A and twenty percent (20%) of West Bank as Area B, making forty precent (40%) of Area A and B while the Israeli are controlling sixty percent (60%) of Palestine West Bank.

Amb Shawesh decried that Palestinian are fully under the control of Israeli, informing that before the war in 1948, Palestine have their sea ports, currency, Central Bank among others which is why they have called on the international community to find solution to Israeli attacks on the innocent civilians taken refuge camps.

According to the Palestinian envoy, the Palestinian Authority government is totally in support of the two-State solution after all areas of disagreement has been amicably settled, noting that the solution should be in practical level not only in theoritical level or with lip service.

He accused the Israeli government of using delay tactics and going back on agreements reached in the past by putting upstacles to the resolution of the conflict.

He called on the international community to apply pressure on the Israel government to refrain from attacking Palestine.

“Two-State solution refers to an arrangement where Israel and Palestinian states co-exist in the region. The two-State solution supported by the United States government and numerous countries in the world has not materialise because of four main reasons namely: Borders, Jerusalem, Refugees, and Security.
