The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed that the outcome of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal Judgment, upholding the victory of President Tinubu remains a wholesale endorsement of the party’s vision, values and commitment to rebuilding and repositioning the country for greatness.

The National Secretary of APC, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru while briefing newsmen on Thursday at the Party’s Secretariat in Abuja sequel to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal judgment, upholding the victory of President Tinubu in the Feb 25 general elections informed that the epochal judgement has reinforced Nigeria democracy and underscored the vibrancy and independence of the judiciary.

The APC National Secretary informed that the party campaign, planked on the unity and prosperity of Nigeria and their message of Renewed Hope obviously resonated with Nigerians at home and in Diaspora.

Senator Basiru told Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnic or political affiliations to join hands with the party and President Bola Tinubu in building a better nation, adding that the verdict was a reaffirmation of the mandate handed to the party and Tinubu by the electorates at the polls.

“No doubt, the 2023 presidential election was keenly contested.

“We acknowledge and applaud the diligence and professionalism of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, local and foreign observers and other stakeholders in ensuring a credible, free and fair election.

“We also commend our Party leaders, members, supporters and campaigners for their unwavering commitment and resilience throughout the electoral process.

“As we soldier on in the business of governance, the APC will stay focused and resolute in fostering unity and improving the quality of life of all Nigerians as enshrined in the eight-point agenda of this administration.

“We enjoin all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity, religion or political leanings to join hands with us in this onerous but patriotic task of building a better, more prosperous nation. Again, we commend the judiciary for strengthening our democratic process through the instrumentality of the law.

“Having meticously adjudicated all the petitions brought before it by aggrieved parties and entered judgement in favour of our great party, the PEPT has reaffirmed the mandate handed our party and its Presidential Candidate, now President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by millions of Nigerians through the ballot on February 25, 2023″ he said.

Reacting to questions on the PDP and LP’s rejection of the judgement, Senator Basiru maintained that as a party, they will speak with the language of maturity, than speaking like the opposition.

According to him, the opposition parties should join hands with APC and President Tinubu in building a better and more prosperous nation.

“We are the party in power and affirmed by the court. So, when we speak we speak the language of maturity, we can’t be speaking like we are in opposition” he ended.
