The redeployment, which the DG described as a “strategic restructuring for enhanced performance,” is aimed at strengthening inter-departmental collaboration, driving innovation, and reinvigorating NIMASA’s leadership team in line with its statutory mandate.

Under the new leadership structure, Hajia Moji Jimoh now heads the Administration and Human Resources Department, while Aishatu Jidda takes charge of Planning, Research and Data Management Services.

Barr. Heaky Dimowo becomes Director of Legal Services and Board Secretary; Isichei Osamgbi assumes the role of Director, SERVICOM; and Mrs. Olubusola Obasanjo-Akande takes over as Director of the Western Zone.

Also appointed are Engr. Christopher Amakulo (Director, Special Duties), Ms. Gloria Anyasodo (Director, Cabotage Services), Salihu Abdullahi Yelwa (Director, Shipping Development), Mrs. Nneka Obianyor (Director, Reforms Coordination and Blue Economy), Umar Ibrahim Sidi (Director, Maritime Labour Services), Dr. Oma Ofodile (Director, Marine Environment Management), Mr. Buba Umar (Director, Abuja Zonal Office), and Ahmed Shittien as Special Adviser (Technical) to the DG.

Dr. Mobereola charged the new directors to bring their wealth of experience and professionalism to bear, emphasizing the need for teamwork and innovation in executing NIMASA’s strategic vision.

“This redeployment reflects our deliberate effort to rejig operations, foster synergy across departments, and drive sustainable maritime development,” Mobereola stated, adding that the reforms are key to aligning NIMASA with global best practices in maritime administration and safety.

The reshuffle marks one of the most extensive internal reorganizations in NIMASA’s recent history and signals the DG’s intent to inject new energy and accountability into the Agency as it positions itself as a key player in Nigeria’s Blue Economy drive.
