The Presidential Campaign Spokesperson of the Minister of Science and Technology, Mr Ogbonaya Onu, Dr. Uche Egenti has affirmed that if elected Dr Onu as President come 2023 under All Progressives Congress (APC) is having a stable, science, technology and innovation driven Nigeria.
Dr Egenti who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Friday maintained that electing Dr Onu as President would be like a Nigeria where crime will be wrestled, a Nigeria where tourism will be wrestled through science, technology and innovation.
He enjoined the ruling party to be sincere, strong and credible in whatever they do to show the world that they are ready to get Nigeria working again.
“You will agree with me that having Dr. Ogbonaya Onu as the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria come to 2023 is having a stable and a science, technology and innovation driven Nigeria, a Nigeria where crime will be wrestled, a Nigeria where tourism will be wrestled through science, technology and innovation.
“It’s like putting a round peg in a round hole. Because you know very well that he is a man of very strong antecedents. A man who is very intelligent, very credible, tested, trusted by the people, an embodiment of humility, and a selfless person.
Reacting to the rumoured concensus arrangement, he said, “I am not in the administrative process of the party. Every party member is supposed to abide by the rules that governs the party. If the party feels that consensus is the right way to make Nigeria work so be it.
“My principal is a man of faith. I don’t need anyone to tell me, you know that very well. That he is a man that does not like controversies, he will be at peace with anything that will make Nigeria work.
Speaking if his principal will sign the controversial page on the form. Dr. Egenti said; “I am not contesting the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and I am sure every contestant sees this forms made available whichever one they feel comfortable with will sign and embrace it. I am not my principal.
He advised the party to be transparent, sincere in purpose, deeply disciplined because only when the party is transparent and sincere, there will be deep discipline.
“My prayer is that the party should be sincere, strong and be credible in whatever thing they do so that they can show the world that they are ready to get Nigeria working again” he said.
