PTAD Disburses ₦5.12bn to Retirees, Reaffirms Commitment to Pensioners’ Welfare

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed ₦5.12 billion in outstanding pension arrears to 90,689 Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) pensioners across its four pension departments.

In a statement on Monday, PTAD said the payment aligns with its commitment to settle pension liabilities as funds are released by the Federal Government, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

A breakdown of the disbursement shows:

Civil Service Pension Department (CSPD): 12,773 pensioners, 1 month, ₦408.73 million

Police Pension Department (PPD): 9,681 pensioners, 2 months, ₦619.58 million

Customs, Immigration and Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD): 8,626 pensioners, 1 month, ₦276.03 million

Parastatals Pension Department (PAPD): 59,609 pensioners, 2 months, ₦3.81 billion

The total payout amounted to ₦5,119,328,000.

“This payment reaffirms the administration’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that pensioners receive their due entitlements,” PTAD stated, adding that it remains dedicated to protecting the welfare of retirees under its management.
