The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has launched a revised Service Charter themed “A Renewed Commitment to Service Excellence”, reinforcing its pledge to deliver transparent, accountable, and dignified services to pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).
The unveiling ceremony, held Wednesday at PTAD headquarters in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders, including the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, and representatives of pension unions.
In her address, Dr. Uzoka-Anite hailed PTAD’s reforms as a critical step in restoring confidence in government institutions, stressing that pensioners deserve nothing short of dignity and care after years of service.
“The revised Service Charter is more than a document; it is a renewed social contract between the government and its senior citizens,” she said, reaffirming the Ministry’s backing for PTAD’s initiatives.
Executive Secretary of PTAD, Mrs. Tolulope Odunaiya, described the charter as a “covenant with pensioners,” setting clear standards for timeliness, empathy, and professionalism in service delivery.
She noted that the new framework underscores PTAD’s determination to innovate, improve efficiency, and strengthen public trust.
Also speaking, PenCom DG Omolola Oloworaran praised PTAD’s collaborative spirit, highlighting that the revised charter complements PenCom’s regulatory role in ensuring transparency and long-term sustainability of Nigeria’s pension system.
Stakeholders from SERVICOM, the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), and pension unions commended the Directorate, urging it to remain steadfast in upholding its commitments while calling the reform a “turning point for service delivery in Nigeria’s pension administration.”
The revised charter, PTAD explained, introduces updated service standards and innovative processes designed to improve the pensioner experience, reflecting President Bola Tinubu’s wider Renewed Hope Agenda.
