Regional Development Gets a Boost, as Ministry welcomes New PS Tinuke, with a focus on inclusive growth

The Ministry of Regional Development on Thursday witnessed a significant milestone with the successful handover ceremony of the outgoing Permanent Secretary (PS), Dr. Shuaib Belgore, to the newly appointed Permanent Secretary (PS) Mrs. Tinuke Watti.

In his address, Belgore briefed the new permanent secretary on the activities of each department and expressed gratitude to the Ministry’s staff for their unwavering support and commitment, which he credited as the cornerstone of the Ministry’s achievements.

Mr. Patrick Chika Osuji, the
​​​​Head, Press and Public Relations Unit of the ministry made this known to newsmen in a press statement in Abuja shortly after the ceremony.

“It has been an honour to serve in this capacity and to work alongside such talented and dedicated individuals. I am confident that the same level of support will be given to the new permanent secretary, Mrs. Tinuke Watti, which will help steer the Ministry toward even greater achievements,” Belgore stated.

Dr. Belgore, who has served the Ministry with dedication and distinction reflected on his tenure and the strides made in fostering sustainable regional development.

In her acceptance speech. Mrs. Tinuke Watti, the former permanent secretary, Ministry of Sports, highlighted her vision for inclusive and impactful regional development.

She emphasized on collaboration and innovation as key pillars of her administration.

“I am deeply honoured to take on this responsibility. Together, we will continue to advance the Ministry’s mission, ensuring that our regional development initiatives positively impact and transform lives,” Mrs. Watti opines.

The ceremony featured the symbolic handover of documents, signifying the seamless transition of responsibilities, underscoring unity and shared commitment.

The event was also graced by the Management staff and staff of the Ministry, who celebrated the transition of leadership.
