Hon. Chinedu Ogah Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, and the founder of Chyboy Foundation has awarded scholarships to fifty-two Secondary School indigent students from JSS1 to SS3.
The scholarship is under the Chyboy Foundation.
Hon. Ogah announced beneficiaries of the scholarship a meeting with beneficiaries of the Scholarship and their parents at Blessed Martins International Schools, Abakaliki.
Hon. Chinedu Ogah represented by his Wife, Mary Chinedu Ogah said out of over five hundred indigent students that participated in the examination, fifty-two candidates came out top and qualified for the annual scholarship awards, worth fourteen million, seven hundred and sixteen thousand naira per session.
The lawmaker explained that the shortlisted students were awarded the sum of two hundred and eighty-three thousand naira each, per term and that this covers their tuition and Boarding fees, Textbooks, Medical Fees, Uniform fees, ICT, Lesson Fees, Furniture, and many others.
He encouraged the students to be more committed to their studies and pursue their ambition to attain greater heights as those who perform excellently in their WAEC would be awarded a University Scholarship.
Earlier, the Secretary of, the Chinedu Ogah Foundation, Mrs. Ann Ekeocha explained that the gesture was a way of supporting indigent students and allowing them to acquire formal education.
According to the Foundation Secretary, the Founder of the Foundation is passionate about the future of the young children who are leaders of tomorrow and it is paramount to ensure that they get educated, most importantly supporting the indigents among them.
The Administrator, Blessed Martins International Schools, Abakaliki, Mr. Morris Ijeoma, urged the benefitting Students to make the best use of the offer and lauded the Founder of the Foundation, Comrade Chinedu Ogah for giving hope to the hopeless.
He congratulated the beneficiaries on their efforts in their academic performance.
Two of the Parents of the Students, Mr. Titus Ogah and Mrs. Grace Egwu thanked the lawmakers for easing their burden by awarding their Wards scholarship and prayed to God to lift him higher.
The benefitting Students drawn from Ikwo and Ezza South Local Government Areas are expected to resume school on Monday 18th September 2023.
