Nigeria’s fast-rising creative industry got a powerful boost as the U.S. Mission in Nigeria hosted award-winning American vocal trio, Pipeline Vocal Project, in Lagos and Abuja, using music as a tool to spark collaboration, mentorship, and economic opportunities.

The Alaskan group, famous for its genre-bending vocal arrangements and electrifying performances, delivered masterclasses, mentored young artists, and shared stages with emerging Nigerian talents in a series of dynamic events that blended artistry with cultural diplomacy.

In Lagos, the trio engaged students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), before hosting interactive jams at Ogidi Studios.

Their visit climaxed in a sold-out concert at Terra Kulture, where Nigerian creativity and American artistry fused in an unforgettable showcase.

“Pipeline Vocal Project’s visit has been an outstanding representation of American musical excellence, inspiring a new generation of Nigerian artists,” said U.S. Consul General Rick Swart. “These exchanges connect U.S. and Nigerian creatives, broaden economic opportunity, and build stronger ties between our people.”

In Abuja, the group ran workshops at Abba Music Studio (AMS), mentoring singers at every level, before headlining a grand showcase with Nigerian performers including Oiza x Meyi, Jerell Ebuka, and Yakubu Worship.

Lisa Hawkins, Founder of the Trio, hailed Nigeria’s creative energy: “We’ve toured 12 countries, but Nigeria stands out. The drive, the talent, the passion here are unmatched.”

U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy Counselor, Lee McManis, emphasized that music’s power to connect people transcends borders, saying, “Nigerian artists are influencing the U.S. music scene, just as American music inspires Nigeria.

This exchange strengthens both industries.”

The U.S. Mission stressed that the visit reflects its commitment to commercial diplomacy and harnessing Nigeria’s creative industries as engines of prosperity, innovation, and cross-cultural understanding.
