Sardauna Beach Soccer Club has emerged champion of the Kaduna Beach Soccer tournament, defeating Best Beach Soccer Club 6-5 goals in an epic final witnessed by Beach Soccer enthusiasts.
In another explosive match for the third place, GBS BSC beat Cosmos BSC 7-6 goals.
The tournament which was organized by the Kaduna State Beach Association at the Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, North-West, Nigeria saw Emmanuel Tanko emerged highest goal scorer with 14 goals while Lukman Ibrahim was voted as the best player, and Samuel Ogwola all of Sarduana BSC was voted as the best Goalkeeper.
A total number of fifteen matches were played and producing 153 goals which eight clubs participated in the four day tourney from Wednesday 22nd of August, 2018 to Saturday 25th at the Beach Soccer Pitch, Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna.
Speaking at the end of the tournament, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Beach Soccer Association, Engineer Musa Nimrod expressed delight at the success achieved during the event.
He thanked members of the Association, the fans and guests promising to make the event bigger moving forward while calling on the Nigeria Football Federation to invest in Beach soccer.
Meanwhile, a member of the State Association and Committee member Futsal, Mallam Sani Mohammed also expressed delight at the success recorded and assured that more clubs will be given the opportunity to participate in the next edition.
Current Assistant Coach of the National Beach Soccer Team, Coach Abdul Isa promised an improved tournament.
The former Beach Soccer goalkeeper appealed to the Kaduna State Government to oblige the Association’s request to convert the redundant Lawn tennis court to an international standard where interstate, qualifiers and Beach world cup can be staged with the world class facilities at its disposal.
Other dignitaries who graced the final include: Kaduna State FA Secretary, Abdulsalam Ahmed Jere, Chairman Kebbi State Beach Soccer Association and Futsal member, Mallam Mahmud Hadeija, Florence Yori, Deputy Director of Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, Mary Vayin, Kaduna State SWAN Chairman, Isaiah Benjamin and other top stakeholders in the state.
