The Lawmaker representing Çross River Central Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams has expressed optimism over the lists of ministerial nominees sent for screening and confirmation by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Senator Eteng who made this known in an interview on Friday with journalists during the screening of second batch of the ministerial nominees informed that the nominees when confirmed will no doubt deliver base on the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians on growth and development.

“Yes I’m optimistic that the crop of people in the lists of ministerial nominees if confirmed will deliver base on the promises of this government,” Eteng said.

Responding to question on nominees without portfolio, the Lawmaker noted the current law allows the president to either sent the ministerial nominees with or without portfolio.

“As you may be aware, the current law, allows Mr. President to send the ministerial nominees either with or without portfolio.

“We looked at their educational background and asked them questions regarding their field. If Mr President even sent their names with portfolios, he has the power to make changes even after their confirmation” he said.
