Senator Danladi Sankara, represented Jigawa Northwest in the 9th Senate has commiserated with family of Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf who died on Friday in Kano at the age of 76.
In a condolence message made available to newsmen in a press statement in Abuja on Saturday, Senator Sankara described the death of Bello Yusuf as a great loss to the people of Jigawa State in particular and the nation in general.
He lamented that his passage came at a time when his wisdom and knowledge are mostly needed by the people.
“I convey my sincere condolences to immediate family, the people and government of Jigawa State over the death of Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf.
“During his lifetime he contributed immensely to the progress and development of Nigeria as a Minister and Senator.
“I pray to Allah to grant him Aljannat , and his family the fortitude to bear this great loss” Sen Sankara said.
Late Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf hailed from Gwaram in Jigawa State and served as Minister in the government of the late President Shehu Shagari from 1979 to 1983 before serving as Senator for Jigawa Southwest Senatorial District from 1999 to 2007.
