The Senator, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the Senate, Comrade Shehu Sani has opined that the reasons Nigerians should re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressive Congress (APC) come 2019 general election back to power is for the very fact that the current administration represent hope, continuity and interest of the common man in Nigeria.
Senator Sani stated this while addressing journalists in his residence shortly after celebrating Eid-el-Kabir Sallah with People Living with Disabilities (PWDs) in Kaduna State, North-West, Nigeria on Tuesday, the 21st of August, 2018.
According to him, why Nigerians need to reelect APC is because the image of the country has been restored back to glory, pointing out that before the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Nigerian has been seen as a corrupt backyard of the world but today the perception and image has changed and Nigeria is being recognized as a nation of women and men of dignity and a repeatable people in the committee of nations.
The Lawmaker was of the opinion that Nigerians have also seen the progress made by the current administration under President Buhari government in the areas of completions of projects and initiation of new ones, fight against corruption, economic growth and impact on the areas of security.
“On the positive side, we have seen progress made by this government on the areas of completions of projects and initiation of new ones, fight against corruption, economic growth and impact on the areas of security.
“We have see how, the image of the country has been restored back to glory. Before the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari’ administration, Nigerian was seen as a corrupt backyard of the world. Today that precision and image has changed. We are recognized as a nation of women and men of dignity and a repeatable people in the committee of nations.
“A lot have been achieved in different areas, and this could be attested to by the exceptional and outstanding recognition given to President Buhari in international fora and international circle.
On the challenges faced by APC government, Comrade Shehu Sani lamented that it would be self denial to say that in last 3 and half years as a ruling party, there were no challenges within the party and governance.
The Lawmaker stressed that there are level of poverty and unemployment and believed that the achievement recorded by President Buhari administration is far out weight the failures and weaknesses of the administration because Nigeria have a President who has become a symbol of disciple and integrity which is reasons for his re-election.
“But we cannot say there were no bumps and challenges and weaknesses. The subversive insecurity in Middle Belt area is a major concern. We have also seen combustion and convulsions within the ruling political party that has lead to the exit of many people out of the party.
“The fact that the insurgency use to throw bombs in the cities, north-west, north-central and other parts of Nigerians have now been push back to spectacular attacks of some targets on few occasions, that is also progress that have been achieved.
“The very fact that Nigeria today is more peaceful than it was in the past is also an achievement that we should take very seriously and most importantly, Nigerian passports and identity is also a source of pride today.
“You should elect the APC back to power for the very fact that it represents hope, continuity and interest of the common man in Nigeria that is my view on that” Senator Sani ended.
