SIGNIS Meeting: Africa Journalists Charges to Use Their Pen to Promote Justice, Bishop Isizoh

The Episcopal Communications Bishop, Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, Most Reverend Dennis Chidi Isizoh has charge Journalists across African to make good use of their mobile phones and other ICT gadgets to promote peace and justice in the continent.

Most Reverend Dennis Isizoh who is the Auxiliary Bishop of Onisha gave the charge at the opening ceremony of the Strategic meeting of the Executive Delegates of SIGNIS Africa holding at Catholic Secretariat Nigeria Resource Centre, Abuja.

According to him, it is important to always have an in-depth analysis of news before transmission and called on the delegates of Communicators to always transmit good values and encourage balance reportage in Africa continent.

“Make good and responsible use of your mobile phones and other ICT gadgets to promote peace and justice by reaching out with the good news of Christ as Christians” he stressed.

Earlier in his welcome address, the President of SIGNIS Africa, Revered Father (Prof) Walter Ihejirika expressed commitment towards moving SIGNIS to a higher level.

Highlights of the meeting include: goodwill messages, lectures, deliberations including a minute silence for the soul of a Reverend Father and an Exco member of SIGNIS from Cot’d’ivoire and the victims of Jos, Plateau state attack by suspected herdsmen.

There are about nine Africa Countries in attendance at the meeting Togo, Congo, Zimbabwe, Kenya, including Nigeria among others.
