In a major move to rejuvenate Taraba State’s sporting landscape, Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has approved the appointment of two towering figures in the State’s sports community, Coach Bulus Husseini, a legendary tennis Icon and former Director of Sports at the Taraba State Sports Council, as Chairman of the Taraba State Sports Development Commission, and Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo, a veteran journalist and former Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), as a Member of the Commission.
The appointments, hailed as a masterstroke by sports stakeholders, mark a renewed commitment by the Kefas administration to reposition Taraba as a powerhouse for grassroots and professional sports development.
Reacting to the news, the Wukari Veterans FC family to which both appointees belong congratulated them for what it described as a “well-deserved recognition of excellence, passion, and lifelong service to sports.”
In a statement, the club celebrated the duo’s achievements and expressed confidence that their wealth of experience would inject fresh vision, discipline, and innovation into Taraba’s sports sector.
“Coach Bulus Husseini’s leadership and Alhaji Moyoyo’s media expertise will no doubt drive a new era of sports transformation in Taraba State,” the club said, describing the appointments as “inspirational milestones for the entire Wukari sporting family.”
With this new leadership team, expectations are high that Taraba State will soon reclaim its position as one of Nigeria’s most vibrant hubs for athletic excellence and youth empowerment.
