The lndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced a 4 days joint ICT and Electoral Institute (TEI) Training on the utilization of E-LEARNING PORTAL for electoral personnel.
The training which is holding at the Virtual library of the institute Electoral Institute (TEI) is aimed towards development of an e-learning platform to enable the Institutep deliver on its mandate of serving as foremost centre for training of electoral personnel.
In his welcome address, the DG TEI, Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris expressed appreciation to the Hon Chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu, Members of the Commission and Members of the Board of the Electoral Institute (BEI) for their unflinching support.
According to him, TEI is an institute committed to electoral research and documentation with a preoccupation to deliver effective electoral services as a mid-wife of good governance
He was of the opinion that the training has become critical especially in the realities of the present times of the current global lockdown due to the effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic resulting in alternative option of online learning and Training.
The DG enjoined staff of the Institute selected for the training to be committed and display a high sense of responsibility to ensure effective service delivery in line with the Commission’s Vision, Mission and core Values.
In his goodwill address, the Director ICT, Engr Chidi Nwafor appreciated the DG TEI for the opportunity to work together on the E-LEARNING/TRAINING project.
He noted that other departments in the Commission should emulate the Institute in its friendly disposition towards the deployment of ICT to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in Training delivery.
The Training will interrogate the e-learning portal and participants would be trained as Administrators/Master Trainers, Trainers/ Teachers and Users as well.:
