The Nigerian Army’s Operation LAFIYA NAKOWA has scored another major victory as troops of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke stormed a kidnappers’ hideout in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State, arresting two notorious suspects.
Acting on precise intelligence, the troops raided the criminals’ den in the Garau axis of Rafin Taba community on September 19, 2025.
The swift strike led to the capture of Ibrahim Umaru and Adamu Malam Musa, both linked to multiple kidnappings that have plagued Taraba and neighboring states.
Military sources revealed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to several abductions where hefty ransoms were collected.
They also admitted to moving victims across state borders into the infamous Madam Forest in Plateau State, a notorious hideout for criminal gangs.
Commander 6 Brigade/ Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their precision and vowed that the army will sustain relentless pressure until every criminal network is dismantled.
“This operation is proof that kidnappers will find no safe haven in Taraba or anywhere within our theatre of operations. We will pursue them, smoke them out, and crush them,” he declared.
The Nigerian Army called on citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely intelligence while warning criminals to surrender or face decisive force.
With Operation LAFIYA NAKOWA intensifying, Taraba’s kidnappers are now firmly in the crosshairs.
