Terrorism Takes Hit: Nigerian Military Kills Mai Wada, Recovers Arms and Ammo

The Armed Forces of Nigeria, in collaboration with other security agencies, have achieved notable successes in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminal activities across the country.

According to Major General Markus Kangye, the Director Defence Media Operations (DDMO) in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday, between June 25 and 26, 2025, troops recovered arms, ammunition, and arrested several suspects in various operations.

– Troops of Operation HADIN KAI recovered 408 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, 1,200 rounds of 7.62mm, and 2 x 40mm RPG bombs in Ngoshe, Borno State.

– 21 Special Armoured Brigade neutralized three terrorists and recovered a Dane gun in Bama LGA.

– Sector 3 troops intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorist logistics supplies in Monguno, Borno State.

– 2 Battalion troops recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition in Kaduna State.

– 1 Brigade of Operation FASAN YAMA neutralized a terrorist kingpin in Zamfara State.

– Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE rescued 5 passengers kidnapped along Road PEYKIA – WUKARI in Benue State.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria remain committed to dismantling criminal networks and maintaining peace across the nation, in collaboration with other security agencies.
