To ease learning activities, the Federal College of Education Isu, Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State has received a 500-sitting capacity auditorium with classroom blocks from the tertiary education trust fund (Tetfund).
The auditorium with classrooms, mini library and offices was 2022 tetfund special intervention project.
Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) originally established as Education Trust Fund (ETF) by the Act No 7 of 1993 as amended by Act No 40 of 1998 (now repealed and replaced with Tertiary Education Trust Fund Act 2011) has been up and doing in assisting tertiary institutions in Nigeria in different areas to make learning easy, and improve on the standard of education in the country.
Their assistance cuts across infrastructure development projects, research, sponsorship of conferences among others and the college is part of the beneficiaries.
The auditorium located at the permanent site was handed over to the college on Wednesday by the project consultant, Functional Cost Consultants.
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Reuben Okechukwu the provost Federal Technical College Isu, noted that without Tetfund support infrastructure development would be delayed in the institution owing to the current high cost of building materials in the country.
Prof Okechukwu commended tetfund for the intervention pointing that the auditorium is one out of many other projects from Tetfund.
He assured that the school management will continue to give quality learning to the students and as such utilize the interventions from Tetfund.
“The project started in May and was completed under one-year courtesy of Tetfund.
Tetfund has been generous to us. This is not the only project we got from tetfund we have other projects ongoing in the college. Indeed we are grateful to Tetfund”.
