Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District, has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, defending his economic and security policies.
In an interview with National Assembly New Media, Sen. Ibrahim praised the President’s emphasis on investing in technology and security, citing the allocation of ₦5 trillion to security and the growth in oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day.
He also noted the positive GDP growth of 3.6% and attributed these achievements to the President’s policies.
Sen. Ibrahim defended the President’s decision to award national honors to key figures, including former INEC Chairman Humphrey Nwosu, saying it was a thoughtful and fair process.
He emphasized that national honors should recognize genuine contributions and not spark regional or political agitation.
On political defection, Sen. Ibrahim said change is natural and necessary, citing examples of people changing marriages, religions, and homes.
He lauded the President’s collaborative and liberal approach to governance, describing it as crucial for democratic stability across Africa.
“He can’t build another party. He cannot leave APC to go and build PDP, he cannot leave APC to go and build SDP, so it’s been fractured, and I think it’s like a liberal so to even come to say where the opponents are, they keep going to some discomfort zones. Was very realistic.
“He also spoke a lot about his economic reforms. I think he talked about investment of money, the infrastructure for security, technology, and that’s what we’re talking about last time.
“You know that, look, the security will be powered by technology, not manpower or that, not that we are going to turn away manpower, but we are going to put more money into technology, you know, distillment of technology instruments in stopping insecurity. And I think that is really a good focus” he said.
