The twenty two All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors and leadership of the National Assembly, among others, unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement which was made collectively by all members of APC across Nigeria, reflected a strong and united front within the ruling party.
Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, moved the motion for Tinubu’s endorsement, which was seconded by Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State.
During the official declaration at the APC National Summit, themed “Renewed Hope Agenda: The Journey so Far,” on Thursday at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, described Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a binding contract with the Nigerian people rather than a mere political slogan, a bold vision for economic revitalization, institutional renewal, and inclusive development.
He maintained that No other candidate will be contesting the party’s presidential ticket with Tinubu come 2027.
Ganduje expressed confidence that the agenda has transitioned from a theoretical framework to a tangible reality, highlighting improvements in macroeconomic indicators and increased global investor interest.
“On behalf of the only body who has the power to field any candidate, I hereby affirm the various endorsements and declare President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of APC.
“The APC is not just a party; it is a movement. One built on courage, conviction, and the collective aspiration of over 200 million Nigerians. The future of Nigeria lies with a strong, stable, and progressive APC. Let us go forward together, not as politicians alone, but as patriots and custodians of Nigeria’s future.
“We must not go into the future divided, unprepared, or reactive. The challenges of our nation require a cohesive, disciplined, and ideologically sound party,” Ganduje appealed.
“We are committed to winning fairly, decisively, and strategically. These off-season contests are not just about states; they are a reflection of our national momentum and a rehearsal for total victory in 2027.”
“The summit, themed “Renewed Hope Agenda: The Journey so Far,” served as a platform for party leaders and stakeholders to reflect on the progress made under the current administration and to strategize for the future.
“At the heart of our current political and developmental journey is the Renewed Hope Agenda, a bold and necessary blueprint put forth by our leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“This agenda is not just a political slogan; it is a comprehensive vision aimed at resetting the foundations of governance, restoring economic vibrancy, and instilling a renewed sense of national purpose,” Ganduje noted.
The APC National Chairman therefore called for collective responsibility among party members towards making the vision a reality.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda must therefore be seen as a collective mission, not the responsibility of the President alone. It is our obligation, across all organs of the APC, to rally behind this agenda with full conviction, to explain it to the people, to defend it with facts, and to ensure that its benefits are felt at every level of society,” he said.
The high-level event was attended by key figures in the APC hierarchy, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje. Delegates and stakeholders from all 36 states of the federation were also in attendance, further reinforcing the party’s united stance.
