In Borno State, the operations covered Danbore, Arnari, Limankara Kekeno, Gajiram, Gonori, Monguno, Kukawa, Mobbar, Gwoza, Konduga, Chibok, Ngazai, and Bama local government areas.
Troops also engaged terrorists in Damaturu LGA of Yobe State.
These encounters led to the elimination of dozens of terrorists, the arrest of nine others, and the rescue of three kidnapped victims.
Similarly, between August 13 and 20, operations were carried out in Kurtum, Gamboru Ngala, Auno, Ngulde, and Kwatan Alkama villages of Borno, as well as in Geidam, Damaturu, and Nguru LGAs of Yobe.
Troops neutralised a suspected terrorist, arrested nine collaborators and informants, rescued three more victims, and recovered a cache of weapons, logistics items, vehicles, motorcycles, and the sum of ₦191,700. Several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were also safely detonated.
The statement added that a major breakthrough was achieved in Gubio LGA of Borno State following the arrest of a suspected terrorist on August 7.
The suspect later confessed to hiding weapons with the knowledge of his wife and uncle.
Acting on his confession, troops on August 17 recovered three AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition from the location.
The Defence Headquarters noted that the operations have also created safer conditions for farmers in the region, enabling them to return to their farmlands without hindrance.
It pledged that the Armed Forces, in collaboration with partners, will sustain the tempo to secure every part of Nigeria.
“These successes are not only a testament to the professionalism and bravery of our personnel but also reflect the growing cooperation of local communities and the Nigerian people,” the statement read.
