In a decisive blow to insurgent networks in the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have rescued 86 kidnapped victims and arrested 29 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers during a string of coordinated offensives in Borno State.
The daring operations, conducted by the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2 OPHK on November 9, 2025, unfolded along the Buratai–Kamuya Road, where Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters were attempting to abduct civilians and seize vehicles.
Acting on swift intelligence, the troops intercepted and overpowered the insurgents near Dutse Kura, forcing them to flee towards Mangari.
A follow-up clearance raid led to the destruction of 11 makeshift terrorist structures and the liberation of men, women, and children held hostage in the camp.
Recovered items from the raid included an AK-47 rifle, five magazines with 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles.
The insurgents’ hideout was subsequently razed to the ground.
In a related sweep, troops stationed at Mangada arrested 29 individuals suspected of supplying logistics to terrorist groups en route to Chilaria.
Confiscated materials included two pickup trucks, a tricycle, and about 1,000 litres of petrol, alongside engine oil, gun truck tyres, medical supplies, and food provisions—items believed to sustain insurgent operations in the area.
Military authorities confirmed that the operation was executed without any troop casualties, hailing it as a model of precision and tactical efficiency.
“The Military High Command commends the gallantry and professionalism of the troops,” said Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for Operation Hadin Kai.
“These operations underscore our resolve to deny terrorists freedom of action and restore lasting peace in the North East.”
The latest success adds to a string of counter-terrorism gains by Nigerian forces, tightening the noose around Boko Haram and ISWAP remnants who continue to suffer heavy losses in both manpower and logistics across the region.
