Troops of 3 Division and the Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP) have dealt a heavy blow to armed militias terrorizing Plateau State, arresting 15 suspects and recovering a dangerous arsenal of weapons in a decisive operation.
According to Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, the Media Information Officer of JTF OPEP in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, acting on credible intelligence, the troops launched a technology-driven offensive on September 19, 2025, targeting militias who set huts ablaze at Jamrop Village in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area.
He maintained that the operation yielded a massive breakthrough: fifteen fabricated rifles, 105 cartridges, and other combat gear were seized from the arrested suspects.
Major Zhakom confirmed that the captured militias are now in custody, while hot pursuit continues for others who fled the scene.
The Media Information Officer of JTF OPEP, said the troops are intensifying efforts to crush criminal networks across the Joint Operations Area.
“This operation is a clear signal that militias and their sponsors will have nowhere to hide. Their identities will be exposed, and justice will catch up with them,” he declared.
With the Plateau theatre heating up, the military insists its renewed crackdown will suffocate armed groups and restore lasting peace to troubled communities.
