Mercy Salma Aminu, the Mayor, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Abuja Chapter, has brought a Two-week Masterclass designed to empower Nigerians and re-train movie practitioners on technical and entrepreneurship skills embedded in the movie industry.

She explained that the masterclass is an investment in Nigeria’s creative future, noting that the entertainment industry is a powerful engine of economic growth, capable of generating revenue, creating jobs, and showcasing the culture on the world stage.

Speaking of journalists during a press conference in Abuja on Friday while unveiling the Masterclass, Mayor Mercy described the intensive training as a transformative opportunity for every aspiring actor in Nigeria.

She explained that Nigeria is a land of immense talent and creativity, stressing that our stories are vibrant, our culture is rich, and our people are filled with passion but yet, despite all the potential, many of our talented actors have not had the opportunities or resources to truly shine on the global stage.

According to her, the masterclass is important and more than just a series of workshops, it is a pathway to empowerment, a bridge to success, and a chance to turn dreams into reality.

Mayor Mercy informed that the program is meticulously crafted to elevate Nigerian talent to new heights.

She noted that the program will delve into the intricacies of character development, master on-camera techniques, and refine their audition skills, but beyond these technical skills, they will gain something even more valuable—confidence, empowerment, and the belief that they can achieve greatness.

Mayor Mercy enjoined all Nigerians especially the youth to key into the Training and for the well-meaning Nigerians to lend their supports through sponsorship for the training.

By supporting this initiative, you are not just sponsoring a program—you are empowering the next generation of Nigerian stars who will uplift our nation and drive the creative industry forward.

,”And we have made sure that your hard work and dedication will not go unrewarded. Participants will stand a chance to win incredible prizes, including state-of-the-art cameras, lighting equipment, and other essential tools that can kickstart your journey into professional acting. These prizes are not just rewards; they are investments in your future, empowering you to continue honing your craft long after the masterclass has ended.

“Imagine yourself, not only equipped with the skills and knowledge from this masterclass but also with the tools you need to create, to innovate, and to bring your unique stories to life. Picture yourself shooting your own short film with the camera you won, sharing your vision with the world, and making a mark in the industry.

“But the empowerment doesn’t stop there. This masterclass also opens doors to global opportunities. Through our partnerships with Hollywood and Bollywood, you will have the chance to connect with international filmmakers, casting directors, and producers. This is more than just learning from the best—it’s about being seen, recognized, and given the opportunity to collaborate on projects that reach audiences far beyond our borders.

“To every aspiring actor, this is your moment. This masterclass is your opportunity to learn, grow, and be empowered. It is a chance to break free from the limitations that have held you back and to step confidently into the future. With the skills you’ll acquire, the connections you’ll make, and the prizes you might win, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.

“To our sponsors and partners—this is your chance to be part of something truly special. Your support will not only empower individual actors but will also help to build a stronger, more vibrant creative industry in Nigeria. Together, we can ensure that Nigerian talent is not just recognized but celebrated on the global stage.

“Let us come together, let us support this masterclass, and let us empower the next generation of Nigerian actors to shine their brightest” ended.
