Unlocking West Africa’s Potential: Nigerian Envoy Discusses Economic Summit with Ivorian President

Nigeria’s Special Envoy to the West Africa Economic Summit (WAES), Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, was received by President Alassane Ouattara of Côte D’Ivoire on June 13, 2025.

This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the
Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

The statement informed that the Envoy delivered a formal invitation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to President Ouattara to participate in the inaugural West Africa Economic Summit, scheduled for June 20-21, 2025, in Abuja.

Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu highlighted the summit’s focus on sustainable development, strategic integration, and economic sovereignty, with the theme “Unlocking Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Region.”

President Ouattara welcomed the initiative, appreciating President Tinubu’s leadership and reaffirming Côte D’Ivoire’s commitment to collaborative progress.

The delegation accompanying the Special Envoy included Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, Ambassador John Ejinaka, and Ambassador Ahmed Sule.

The meeting underscores Nigeria’s efforts to foster regional economic cooperation and development through the West Africa Economic Summit.
