Use one love share in Sports competition to unite Nigeria, says C.P Abdurrahman

Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, C.P Ahmed Abdurrahman has urged Nigerians to always extend the attitude of one love exhibited during the sporting events to other endeavors, saying that it will go a long way to unite the country and put stop to any form of crisis.

He expressed this during the closing of the One Service One Medal, OSOM, games held in Kaduna, having the Nigerian Police Force as the winner of the games with 65 medals.

Fielding questions from newsmen at the venue of the event where he said: “Sports is a unifying factor. If only more organizations and individuals can partner government in taking competitions like this to all the local government areas in the country criminality and crisis will fizzled out of our society”.

He therefore commended the organizers for the initiative and expressed joy that officers and men under his command were able to effectively manage the crisis and prevented it from escalating.

“During the recent disturbances in Kaduna metropolis and other parts of the state, in the heat of the crisis, some areas were witnessing youth of different ethnic groups and religions playing football together and sharing pleasantries without any discrimination.

“During the heat of the crisis, I looked out of my window and was very happy to see youth of different ethnic groups, regions and religions of our great country playing sports with each other pleasantly. It gave me much joy,” he stressed.
