In a bid to bring back the morality of the youth to life, especially during the forthcoming local government election slated for 12th of May, 2018, the President of a Non-Governmental Organization ‘Babban Mace Counseling Services’, Hajiya Khadijat Sa’ad has organized a sensitization programme to educate the youth on the need for non-violent elections.

She made this known to newsmen in an interview before the starting of the endurance trekking which began from Ahmadu Bello Stadium, to Ahmadu Bello Way and ended at Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, North-West, Nigeria on Tuesday where different talents of were showcased by the youth, ad several artistes.

Hajiya Khadijat Sa’ad informed that the essence of the endurance trekking is to sensitize the society and make them understand that election is not all about violence, but can be free, fair and non-violent.

She however stressed the need for all and sundry to go and vote at the local council election, go back to their houses, wait for the results, and not to involve themselves in any violent act.

“The essence of the endurance trekking is to show Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission-KADSIECOM that we are good citizens of the State.

“Babban  Mace Counseling Services, is an organization that deals with the youth and counsels people by giving them advise on what is disturbing them and also try to bring back morality to the life of the youths.

“Since what we do in our organization is counseling, so we plan to do this road work to sensitize the society and make them understand that election is not all about violence, we can have a free, fair and non-violent election.

“We will share flyers to the people so that when the upcoming local government election comes, people should vote and go back to their houses and wait for the results of the election, and not to involve themselves in violent acts,” she stressed.

Commenting on the popular trend that Nigerian youth are lazy according to President Muhammadu Buhari, Hajiya Kadijat disagreed that Nigerian youth are lazy.

This, she said, is because most of the people that are saying that the youth are lazy are not trying to draw closer to the youth to know how to be of help to them.

She advised all and sundry to bring the youth closer through positive activities.

“But my organization shows the youths that we care  and we also make them work hard.

“We have counseled more than 2,000 youth and women on marital issues, importance of education and drugs.

“Issue of morality is the beginning of all evil, because if the youth lack moral up bringing from home, they become problems to the society.

“So the organization is looking into the issue of divorce, which is another problem of home wreckage for the youth. When there is a broken home, that is when the youth in that family start having problems,” Hajiya Khadijat said.
