The Speaker of Federal House of Representatives Honorable Yakubu Dogara has debunked rumours making rounds on the social media that there is no vacancy in any position in his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking through the Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties Hon. Usman Garba ABG in an interview with newsmen at the10th Anniversary and Launching of Sickle Cell Patient Health Promotion Centre (SCPHPC) Health Magazine ‘THE HOPE’ in Kaduna on Saturday, ABG informed that in politics, “people can do a lot of things; but I call that a rumour.

“When you say no vacancy, does that mean there won’t be primary elections? Of what use is the Executive officers of the APC Party then?” he argued.

Speaking on his preparedness towards the 2019 general elections, Hon. Usman ABG said he has always been prepared, adding that politics is like a coin with two sides, either win or loss.

According to him, politics has never been a do or die affair for him; saying when the time comes he will contest, if he wins, good; but if it is the other way, he will still thank God.

Speaking on what he will do differently should he win election in 2019; ABG said he would not do it differently because as a former Member of the Federal House of Representatives, all he needed is to do more.

“I will try as much as possible to reach out to more people, have more community meetings and interviews with my people,” he said.

Hon Usman ABG was of the option that when the time comes, there will be congress and then the APC Executives will vote; and whoever emerges from Councilors to the Governor will represent the party.

He said he believes there will be a free and fair election from the same platform that brought the incumbents on.
