Hajiya Farida Abubakar Float New NGO, Inaugurates BOT Members   …To Address Maternal Mortality

A Board of Trustees (BOT) of a new Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) known as ‘Amana Hope and Care Initiative’ (AHCI) have been inaugurated to address the plight of vulnerable women and children, promote and encourage women in the rural areas on the need of ante-natal care to reduce maternal mortality in Kaduna State.

The Founder and Chairperson of the Organization, Hajiya Farida Abubakar in her inaugural speech at the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Agency (PHCA) premises, North-West, Nigeria emphasized her passion on the health of the women and children especially the unreached.

According to her, the drive prompted the establishing of AHCI to contribute her own quota in a bid to compliment State Government effort in address these challenges where the State cannot reach.

Hajiya Farida Abubakar who is also the Chairperson of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) Chapter of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Kaduna Council appealed for the wisdom, encouragement, effort, timely contribution and patients of the BOT members to ensure that AHCI project will not fail, saying with the caliber of their personality, the sky will not be the Organization limit.

“Let me begin by thanking you all for accepting to be part of this project. I am passionate about the health of women and children, so that is why l establishes the NGO to contribute my own quota to the lives of the vulnerable and the unreached in the society.

“We know as the BOT members, we are expected to ensure that this project will not fail and l know that with the caliber of people in this Organization, the sky will not be our limit.

“I want to seize the opportunity to thank my husband for given me his full support to run AHCI” She stressed. 

She was of the opinion that her vision is to join hands with other stakeholder, NGOs, CSOs, State Government, and Ministries in contributing and facilitate a better society by helping in creating awareness on issues affecting lives of the citizens in the state especially on health and education.

The Founder however informed that the objective of AHCI is to re-orientate northern women on the issues of divorces and excessive jealousness, develop and encourage gild-child to acquire skills. Promote women freedom in the society, encourage gild-child education and discourage child labour among others.
