The General Overseer, Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Pastor Yohannah Buru has urged Nigerians not to forget to extend their donations of cash and kind to the Internally Displaced Persons, (IDPs) in camps scattered over the country, prison inmates, People Living With Disabilities (PWD) and almajirai among others.
Pastor Buru who made the appeal in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday, 21st of August, 2018 while felicitating with the Muslim community during the celebration of Eid-El Kabr festival also called on wealthy individuals and Islamic organizations to assist the poor with food items to make them happy like others.
According to him, it is important to assist the needy especially the poor with food to eat during a season like this, saying as is the practice, the Church has concluded arrangement to reach out to hundreds of poor Muslims with food help them celebrate the Sallah in happiness.
“On behalf of the Pastors and entire members of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, we wish Muslims all over the world Barka da Sallah.
“I am also calling on parents to keep watch over their children and wards to avert incidences of missing kids during the festivity,” Buru stressed.
In his remark, the Secretary, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) Kaduna State Chapter, Reverend (Dr) Sunday Ibrahim who felicitated with the Muslims, urged them to use the period in strengthening peaceful coexistence.
According to him, mankind must remember that they’re from one family; Adam and Eve, we all believed in One God and both religions preaches peace and unity.
Also contributing, Reverend David Abaya and Evangelist Jonathan appealed to wealthy individuals, philanthropists and governments to donate food to people with disabilities, almajirai and IDPs for Allah’s blessings.
